We are an independent, not-for-profit organization governed by an elected board of directors. As an industry-driven organization, GS1 UAE has a robust governance consisting of several committees, a Board of Directors, and Voting Members, each with distinct roles and responsibilities.

Our strategy, budget, and annual operating plan are reviewed and approved by the Voting Members. Our board members are representative of the industries we work with and come from organizations of all scale across industries, including brand owners, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, pharmacies, and hospitals.

This board is elected each year at the AGM. The board then meets at least three times a year, keeping on top of changes, exploring new strategic opportunities, and driving the industry forward as a whole.
